The success of Tulsa's small businesses is vital to the ongoing health and abundance of our region's economy.

Few people understand this more than Ted Cundiff and the SpiritBank Business Resource Center (BRC) team. Their ongoing focus to go beyond banking and support small businesses to meet the needs of a changing world is making a significant difference, and now it is being recognized. During the 2007 Tulsa Metro Chamber's Small Business Awards luncheon Ted Cundiff received the 2007 Small Business Financial Services Champion Award for his tireless efforts to build and grow the Tulsa Business Resource Center for SpiritBank.

"The award really belongs to all the members of the SpiritBank Business Resource Center team. Each one has played an important role in developing the BRC. Together we have started the Business Solutions Series, developed a virtual BRC website, built the one-stop-shop (BRC building), created the Strategic Partner network, and helped to generate a "buzz" and recognition in the business community for SpiritBank's commitment to small business success," Cundiff stated shortly after receiving the award.

Over the past two years the BRC has held dozens of Business Solutions Series events and supported many of small businesses in the Tulsa region in the development of meaningful strategic plans, solving business challenges, securing critical financial support, and uncovering hidden opportunities to grow their businesses.

"Nothing makes us happier than to play a role in improving and growing a small business, this is what the BRC is all about," said Cundiff.

Taking this philosophy to the next level Cundiff and the Tulsa BRC team are collaborating on the creation of a SpiritBank BRC in Oklahoma City with Patrice Douglas and her team.

"We look forward to replicating the same kind of success Ted and his team have created in Tulsa here in Oklahoma City," explained Douglas.

These are exciting and challenging times in Tulsa and the BRC is committed to being a powerful resource that goes beyond banking by growing and changing with needs of small business and the community.

Congratulations to Ted Cundiff and the SpiritBank Business Resource Center team for being honored with the 2007 Tulsa Metro Chamber Small Business Financial Services Champion Award.
